About Empowerment Center
Empowerment Center (EC), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was founded in 2004 to help communities to empower themselves and discover personal, familial and communal resources to live, learn and grow. Today, EC is working in Pittsburgh, PA, Washington, DC and Prince George’s County, Maryland to help individuals to recognize and maximize their social capital, strengthen total wellbeing, improve interpersonal relationships, and alliance with others.
Currently, EC provides individual, couples and family counseling, domestic violence services, crisis intervention, conflict resolution services, youth development/rites of passage services, parent support groups, HIV/STI education and ex-offender-related services at our center and other partnering agencies such as PCC Stride and Safe Passages Treatment Center in Cheverly, MD.
We envision communities of holistically empowered individuals with the option to determine the course of their lives.
To develop the spiritual, cultural and life skills of youth, young adults and their families in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area and Pittsburgh, PA by providing:
Youth Programs: Finance- Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math/Music (F-STEAM) Camp and Youth Institute
Rites of Passage/Youth Development Groups
Ex-Offender and Abuse Intervention Programs

We look to develop our road of purpose and learn great lessons by working through blockages such as disease, unhappiness, depression and other ills.
